Trichotillomania is an obsessive-compulsive disorder where individuals pull out their hair. The most noticeable symptom for those that pull hair from their head are bald patches. Pulling is often an attempt to alleviate anxieties.
If you’re suffering from trichotillomania, we suggest you talk to a therapist to find the best course of action to address the core issues associated with your pulling. Our understanding is that the best intervention is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT).
Our link system has helped many people suffering from trichotillomania cover up bald patches, giving our clients confidence to go outside. Aside from mindfulness and understanding the impulses that come before pulling, it can be beneficial to find a way to interrupt the behavior with a physical barrier. Unlike a hat our link system can’t be easily taken off
