About Leanne Mills

Leanne Mills is the founder of Innovative Hair Solutions and the developer of the IHS Link System™. Since 2006, she has helped women whose hair has thinned, shed, broken, or changed, finally feel like themselves again. Every consultation at IHS is still handled by Leanne personally.

How IHS started.

Leanne started her career as a stylist working with clients across a full range of hair situations. The pattern she kept noticing was the same: women would come in for extensions or styling, and the salons they were going to before couldn’t help them. The salon stylist would say their hair was too fine, too thin, too damaged, or affected by a condition that the stylist didn’t know how to work with. They’d been told, politely, that there was nothing more to be done.

In 2006 she founded IHS specifically to fix that gap. The salon wouldn’t do general styling or color services for clients with healthy thick hair; it would do only specialty work for women that other salons turned away. The proprietary IHS Link System™ grew out of that mission. Leanne’s link system is a method designed entirely for hair that needs care, with no glue, no tape, no chemicals, and no heat.

Twenty years later, the studio is still in Beverly Hills, the work is still personal, and Leanne still handles every consultation herself.

What Leanne does — and what she doesn’t.

What she does

  • Personally handles every consultation at IHS
  • Designs and installs every IHS Link System
  • Builds custom hair pieces, toppers, and full systems for women and men
  • Works with women navigating female pattern hair loss, postpartum and menopausal thinning, alopecia, trichotillomania, hair loss during chemotherapy, and damage from previous extensions
  • Travels to Miami, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas by appointment for established clients

What she doesn’t do

  • Diagnose or treat medical hair-loss conditions — that is your dermatologist’s or trichologist’s work
  • Promise hair regrowth or claim to influence biological recovery
  • Sell systems or services to clients she doesn’t think will benefit
  • Quote prices remotely — pricing requires seeing the hair in person
  • Use glue, tape, or heat in any installation
  • Take walk-ins or share studio space with other clients during your appointment

How Leanne approaches a first consultation.

Almost every consultation starts the same way: the client sits down, often nervous, often having held this conversation in her head for months or years. Leanne’s first job is to make the room feel safe enough to actually have the conversation.

Then she asks. What has your hair been like? What have you tried? What have you been told? Where else have you gone, and what happened? She listens to the whole picture before she touches the hair. By the time she’s assessing scalp condition and existing density, she already knows what the client is hoping for.

What clients hear next is often the first time anyone has been honest with them: yes, this is workable, here is what I would build, here is what it costs, here is what the next year looks like. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll connect you with the right person instead.

That honesty is the entire point.

Press & recognition.

Best of LA The View Extreme Makeover

A few principles Leanne holds the studio to.

Honesty before sale

If your hair isn’t a fit, you’ll be told that. And we’ll point you toward what is. There is no incentive to push something that won’t serve you.

Privacy by design

Hair loss is private. The studio is built that way. There are no other clients in the space during your appointment.

The hair underneath

Whatever we do is built around protecting the hair you have. If a method would damage existing hair to add new hair, we don’t use it.
