Female pattern hair loss (also called androgenetic alopecia) affects roughly a third of women at some point in their lives. It is genetic, often hormonal, and almost always progressive without intervention. Most women who come to us have already tried supplements, scalp serums, or seen a dermatologist. Some have gotten meaningful help from those routes. Many have not.

Glue, tape, and sew-in extensions all do the same thing in different ways — they concentrate weight onto a small number of healthy strands. When your hair is already thinning, that is the fastest way to make the thinning worse.

Female pattern hair loss is the everyday name for what dermatologists call androgenetic alopecia, graded on the Ludwig scale. It runs in families and is tied to the way individual follicles respond to androgens, hormones every woman has. Over time, sensitive follicles miniaturize: each new hair grows in slightly finer and shorter than the last, until overall density visibly drops. More scalp shows at the part line, especially in photos and bright light. This is usually where pattern loss starts. At this stage the Link System adds subtle density along the part — enough that the part reads as a line again, not a stripe.

No. We do not treat the underlying causes of female pattern hair loss — that is your dermatologist’s role, often through medications like minoxidil, finasteride for women, or other approaches. What the Link System does is restore the appearance and feel of density while you address the cause. It also avoids adding stress to the hair you have left, which traditional extensions do not.
